Hi engineers, do you know what is the main difference between Bridge & culverts? this question may be asked by the recruiter during the interview. After knowing the difference b/w bridge and culvert you will face this kind of questions. Well, we all know that "by spreading knowledge to others, your knowledge also increases" so, please share this question with your colleagues or study mates so that can also improve their basic knowledge.
What is Bridge?
• The drainage structure which facilitates a communication route for carrying the road or railway traffic across an obstruction with or without water is called bridge.

What is Culvert?
A small bridge having the total length equal to and less than 6 meters is known as the culvert. Culverts are available in many and shape like round, elliptical, flat-bottomed, pear-shaped, and box-like constructions. Culverts are by their load and water flow capacities, lifespan and installation of bedding and backfill. The type is based on a number of factors including hydraulic, upstream elevation, and roadway height and other conditions.
Following are the different types of Culvert: Pipe culvert (single or multiple), Pipe-Arch culvert (single or multiple), Box culvert (single or multiple), Arch culvert, Bridge culvert, Metal box culvert.
